Special Education
Walnut Acres provides special education support to students when they qualify for services as designated by Federal Law. These services include Resource, Speech and Language, and an SDC program designed for students with Autism who need an Intensive level of support. Secondary services are also available to special education students if they qualify for such supports as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy or Augmentive Communication.

There are 13 categories under which students may qualify for Special Education services. They are Learning Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, Orthopedic Impairments, Speech and Language Impairments, Visual Impairments, Intellectual Delays, Other Health Impairments, Deaf and Blind, Autism, Hearing Impairments, Deafness, Multiple Impairments, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
